There are lots of kitchen supplies and tools that can be used in the garden. Cooking pots, colanders, milk jugs, food mills, graters, cookie jars, and the like can be repurposed as garden planters.
Here’s another idea that’s not as popular but definitely just as brilliant–use a funnel as a hanging flower planter. Since there’s already a hole at the bottom part of the funnel, you don’t have to worry anymore about drainage. Poke holes on the side so you can insert string or chain to be used for hanging the planter.
