Alliums belong in the same family of onions, chives, garlic, and shallots. But they are used mostly for ornamental purpose. And their scent is not as pungent as garlic or onion. Since these bulbs bloom into vibrant flowers, they can add drama to your landscape.
If you’re thinking of growing these in your garden, you have to find a location with good drainage. If the water retains in the top soil for five to six hours after a rain, you either find a new spot or improve soil drainage using organic material like ground bark or compost.
